General Spanish Classes

We offer all Spanish levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) a six- level curriculum that follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).  The CEFRL is an international guideline that oversees the advancement of foreign language learners across Europe and expanding to other countries. Levels A1 to C2 provide instruction from beginner level to language mastery.

Advanced mastery in both reading and conversational comprehension, as well as written and spoken communication

Highest level of mastery in reading and conversational comprehension, as well as written and spoken communication

General Spanish Classes:

You will learn Spanish through reading, speaking, vocabulary, writing, and listening. You will learn about Hispanic culture through planned activities outside the classroom.

Group Classes: 4-8 students

(2 days/week, for 10 consecutive weeks. Each class is 90 minutes in duration)

A1 level is for the student who wants to learn basic Spanish or seeks a refresher course.

You will learn how to introduce yourself and learn basic vocabulary. Course goals are to achieve basic conversational skills and comprehension of basic spoken Spanish.

Building on the A1 curriculum, the A2 course will improve upon spoken comprehension skills and the use of everyday language skills. Basic grammar will be introduced in this course.

Building on the A1 and A2 curriculums, the B1 curriculum is designed to further enhance proper Spanish pronunciation, as well as further development of written and spoken Spanish. Rules of grammar are presented in this course, further building on grammar taught at the A2 level.  More attention to classroom conversational Spanish is emphasized in this course.

B2 is designed to provide students with extensive practice in conversation, composition, and reading. Students will be able to better express themselves verbally and in written form, displaying a higher level of grammatical dominance and fluency.

C1 is designed for students who already possess advanced level Spanish skills, with intent to further develop their linguistic skill set. The C1 student should display confidence with respect to written and spoken Spanish.

C2 is the highest level of Spanish excellence offered by Claudia’s Spanish Academy.

Methodology

Following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) model, Claudia’s Spanish Academy curriculum emphasizes student interaction and participation at all levels. To maximize the student experience, the curriculum is presented in an organized fashion and integrates a more leisurely approach to learning through educational games, role playing, student interviews, and popular culture discussions.

We incorporate the Communicative Approach, Total Physical Response (TPR) and Task-Based Learning (TBL) approach to help our students achieve their highest potential.
